Happy Valentine's Day
The 1st grade combined party will be on Thursday at 2:00. We will exchange Valentine's prior to the party so please make sure your child has 27 treats to share with the entire grade.
Pizza Lunch on Wednesday.
Thursday is Red/Pink free dress.
No School Friday for teacher in-service and No School Monday, Feb. 16th for President's Day.
We made our February door decoration, celebrated Groundhog day with shadow drawings, and received a blessing from Father Adrian last week.
We celebrated Sonny's birthday and Isaac's 1/2 birthday with yummy treats!
Key Concepts for the Week:
Religion--We will continue Chapter 15 which focuses on forgiveness. Wednesday will go to Mass.
Reading/Language Arts--This week will continue our regular Reading Street unit learning about digraphs -ng, -nk. Tuesday we will review compound words and introduce our story. Wednesday will be the decodable story homework.
Handwriting--Monday we will introduce the spelling words. Tuesday we will be using the handwriting book. Wednesday we will take a practice spelling test and Thursday is the spelling test.
Math-- We will be finishing up the last couple lessons of Chapter 9 and taking the test on Wednesday.
Social Studies--This week our focus will be Winter Olympics. Monday we will read a Scholastic News, Tuesday we will learn about the host cities of the Olympics, and Wednesday we will be making a class book of Olympic events.
