Last week we celebrated Fat Tuesday to prepare ourselves to begin Lent.
Key Concepts for the Week:
Religion--We are starting Chapter 16 this week--Jesus Celebrates the Eucharist.
Reading/Language Arts--This week will be back to doing our regular Reading Street unit. The phonics and grammar skills will include using plural -es, -r controlled vowels, and verbs that do not add-s. The main story selection is "The Class Pet." There will be a practice spelling test on Wednesday. The children will be using their interactive notebook to practice the phonics skills of the week.
Handwriting--Monday the spelling words will be introduced. Tuesday and Thursday we are doing activities about President's Day. Friday is the spelling test.
Math--We will be finishing Chapter 10 on picture and tall graphs by Friday.
Social Studies--This week our focus is on Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The children will read and create a mini-reader, timeline, fact book, and put together a top hat flip book.
