Language Arts/Grammar--The phonics skills focus on the sound of long /i/ using the i-e pattern. We are also going to practice reading words with digraphs /ch and wh/. The main story of the week is "Who Works Here?" The grammar portion of the lessons is going to be teaching the children how to correctly read, capitalize, and use titles. We are very close to finishing our first interactive reading spiral. This week the children will be creating a high frequency word rainbow, lift and flap digraphs, identify titles for people, and long /i/ flap book.
Handwriting--The spelling words will coincide with the phonics focus and contain the i-e word pattern. Tuesday and Thursday we will be doing Advent projects.
