Week of Dec. 8th

Blessings for the 2nd Week of Advent

Mass on Monday for the Holy Day of Obligation.

Tuesday is the Home and School meeting.

Friday is the 1st Sunday Picnic free dress day with the pass from Fr. Grant.

Please make sure your child comes with a heavy winter coat, gloves, etc.. as recess is quite chilly.

Last week we made cards for the homebound of the parish, enjoyed PJ Day, and celebrated a special birthday.

Key Concepts for the Upcoming Week:

Religion--Tuesday we will begin Chapter 3--Jesus Grew Up in a Family,

Language Arts/ Grammar--We are going to begin lessons using the long vowel sounds.  The children will become familiar with "Sneaky e" which will make the vowel sound long.  We are also going to focus on the soft sound of the letters c and g.  The grammar focus will be proper nouns.

Handwriting--We will have our spelling list on Monday, practice test on Wednesday, and a final test on Friday.  In our handwriting book we will practice the strokes for Uppercase A and the Advent page.

Math--We will continue place value, find number patterns, compare numbers, and order numbers this week.

Social Studies--The 12 Days of Christmas will continue.  Each day is kept a surprise for the children until after our afternoon special.  Last week we had Candy Cane Day and Gingerbread Day.  Hopefully, your child share a few of the details.
